Today, John Marius is back with a vengence, and we talk all about the 8th. episode of the 4th season of Game of Thrones, “The Mountain and the Viper.”

This was a brilliantly directed episode. Good stuff for Sansa and Theon, but they saved the best for last. The combat by trial of Tyrion Lannister. Oberyn’s fight with the Mountain made this ending unforgettable…and truly tragic.

On the docket today:

1. Bonding at the Wall – Jon and his bro’s have a final chat before what seems like a final assault by the rampaging Wildlings.

2. Grey Worm – We get another exploration of this character’s journey into free-will.

3. Game of Identities Prt#1 – Theon has to play himself! Theon playing Reek playing Theon…it’s sad but it gives Alfie Allen another chance to shine as an actor.

4. Game of Identities Prt#2 – Sansa is also taking on another persona! Allayne! This IS her finest hour. We get to see her finally coming into her own.

5. Betrayal! – Jorah Mormont is exposed as a traitor. Dany must “play” queen is a heart breaking scene.

6. Father and Son – What should and could have been a “Hallmark Moment,” was played unsentimentally and creepily….

7. Arya Laughs! – This laughs points to a few things about her character

8. The Sad Tale of Cousin Orson – Tyrion waxes poetic about long lost Cousin Orson.

9. Combat! – Oberyn pulls out ALL the stops for an electrifying fight. But does his pride ultimately prevent him from totally winning?

10. Favorite Scene / Line / MVP

11. Snap’s and Hated It’s

We’re in the home stretch of season #4. And the show is firing on all cylinders!
